Howdy! I'm Josh, so you can call me that or JJ. I'm a very outgoing, WALK THE MOON OBSESSED, 22 year-old, soccer loving drummer who's just looking for someone to laugh at my jokes. I have a deep love for Michael Fassbender, and have an unhealthy obsession with Sailor Moon, Chelsea FC, Spain, Glee, and Tyler Oakley. I like to sing and play guitar, although I'm not very good at either haha. I do write songs/poetry though, so maybe I'll post some of that on here one day! If you want to know more, feel free to ask .
you a bitch
It’s called copula deletion, or zero copula. Many languages and dialects, including Ancient Greek and Russian, delete the copula (the verb to be) when the context is obvious.
So an utterance like “you a bitch” in AAVE is not an example of a misused you, but an example of a sentence that deletes the copular verb (are), which is a perfectly valid thing to do in that dialect, just as deleting an /r/ after a vowel is a perfectly valid thing to do in an upper-class British dialect.
Whoa. The MLA has officially devised a standard format to cite tweets in an academic paper. Sign of the times.
